Starbucks invested approximately RMB 1.1 billion (US$156 million) to build the Starbucks China Coffee Innovation Industrial Park in Kunshan, Jiangsu, which is expected to be completed and put into production in 2023. The first phase of the factory project invested approximately RMB 900 million (US$130 million) to build the core coffee roasting factory of the park. Starbucks China Coffee Innovation Industrial Park aims to create the industry's first full-industry chain coffee innovation industrial base, covering coffee bean import and export, roasting, packaging, storage, logistics and distribution, and coffee roasting-related training.
